Ethylene methacrylic acid copolymer (EMAA) is a resin obtained by copolymerizing ethylene monomers with methacrylic acid monomers through free radical polymerization in a high-pressure reactor. The performance of ethylene methacrylic acid copolymer is similar to that of ethylene acrylic acid copolymer (EAA).
1、The characteristics of EMAA resin
1. The best choice for aluminum foil bonding.
2. It has excellent direct coating adhesion to paper, glass, metal, especially aluminum, and also has adhesion to other polar materials.
3. Low heat sealing temperature can accelerate the packaging line speed and improve the production efficiency of the packaging line;
4. Resistant to oil, acid, salt, and other chemicals.
5. Excellent thermal adhesive strength and a wide thermal adhesive temperature range (second only to sarin).
6. Excellent sealing performance in polluted areas.
7. Containing methyl can neutralize the acidic taste of acrylic acid and is widely used in liquid packaging.
2、 Practical application
1. Melt index 2-8, MAA content 6-9%
Application: Packaging of meat, poultry, seafood, and cheese; Grain packaging lining; Pharmaceutical packaging; Packaging of powdered, granular and non food products; Cardboard display/close fitting packaging; Packaging of edible oils, engine oils, and other liquid products; Small food packaging; Co extruded with nylon or used as a heat sealing or bonding layer in other composite film structures.
2. Melt index 8-20, MAA content 8-12%
Application: Aluminum plastic composite packaging shampoo, toothpaste, small face towels, seasonings, and various non food packaging and small bag packaging; Pharmaceutical packaging; Small food packaging, small oil bags Cable shielding, aluminum (steel) plastic composite; Sterile and hot filled liquid packaging; Apply on aluminum strips, vacuum plated metal films, or paper as a heat sealing or bonding layer.
3. Melt index 20-40, MAA content 8-15%
Application: Made into powder, it can be sprayed on the surface of materials such as pipes, steel, non-woven clothing, etc., as anti-corrosion or bonding materials.
3. Melt index 40-100, MAA content 8-15%
Application: It reacts with amine and alkali to produce lotion for transparent organic protective layer on metal surface (which can improve the corrosion resistance of the passivation film of zinc coating and prevent the discoloration of nickel and other metal surfaces), and increase the decorative property. It is widely used in pre-treatment sealer, anti-corrosion primer and other formulations. Hot melt adhesive is used for difficult to bond materials (with extremely strong adhesion to metals); Hot melt adhesive film is used for the middle bonding layer of clothing collars.
4. Melt index 100-500, MAA content 10-15%
Application: Used as a fabric adhesive; Shoe and sock glue; Powder coating.
